Mostly it’s quiet here as I wait for signs of Spring…
but there’s been Red-Wings and Grackles the last few days…
(still no Phoebe or Plover)
but I’ve not been properly out, yet…
(soon!)
Winter ducks seem mostly gone from the places I know…
Instead there’s this:
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens
There were a couple minutes at lunch when I closed my eyes and imagined it July. That felt nice (and especially warm!)
I’m still waiting for a day to inspire Spring-fever in me…
Wanna trade? 23° and 2 more inches of snow today.
It’ll come ….
Spring will be here in a flash – maybe, hopefully and then it will get hot and we will be looking for what we have now. Birds are on their way.
I like your Dickens quote. I was walking about downtown over the weekend and when I was in the sun it was wonderful; when I was in the shade of the buildings, it was still winter.
Well, today is such a day here in central PA.
Hope the same is true for NJ. Temps in the mid-60s.
Nice Dickens quote, and it’s definitely like that here in State College PA, as Donna indicated. We’ve had nothing but beautiful sunny days since I got back–I brought the spring with me from Texas!
It’s what my daughter said to me yesterday when she came home from school (while I was cutting everything back and doing way too much in the garden). Warm in the sun, cold in the shade.
