I’m in a *I don’t feel like blogging* funk, but thought I’d share some happy pics from today.
My girlfriend from work Linda, on the right, had planned to have her baby daughter by C-Section on Inauguration Day, but well, things happened sooner than expected. Melanie was born a couple days before Christmas and we had Linda’s shower tonight.
I don’t often do baby showers, but this one was fun because I got to meet some of her family, including two of her sweet nieces who were busy making *hats* from the discarded ribbons and bows from the shower gifts. Isn’t their hair just the most adorable thing?
The star of the show! Little Melanie Isabel slept through the whole party being passed from arm to arm in the happy embrace of family and friends.
😉
Awww… I have a baby shower to go to next Saturday at church. Baby Joseph hopefully won’t make an appearance until a few weeks after. Melanie Isabel is a doll.
Wow, I hadn’t thought of scheduling a delivery on Inauguration Day, but it’s a wonderful gift to give the child. Too bad she couldn’t have made it happen.
Goas, Laura, you, too?!
Must be something in ….the gray of winter.
But babies “do it” for me–such blank slate with wide open futures. Such wonder.
Such perfection.
Love your wolf picture, also!
Bella Melanie Isabel.
Thanks for sharing this sweet baby face.
What a cutie-pie. Given the nature of today’s world . . . maybe baby showers should always be AFTER the baby arrives. 🙂 It’s better than those party games . . . instead of guess the size of the mother, you can play “don’t wake up the baby.” 🙂
What a gorgeous baby! Her cousins are pretty darned cute too!
Always makes me laugh when people have “early” babies. Mine were always “late”. The last one was about eleven months. Good for her!
I’m not fond of showers either, but having the REAL guest of honor in attendance would make up for it.
How cute – Governor in 2046!
Or perhaps just an avid blooger and bird watcher?
Either way, Congratulations to the parental units.
I love baby showers. Gives gals like me (who really don’t ooh-and-ahh over much) a chance
to go all ga-ga over all the cute onesies and tiny hair bows and the utilitarian bottles and binkies….Oooo, I’m all mushy….
