The other side of sunset

I’d been looking straight ahead, watching the sun sink behind the hills of Atlantic Highlands, coloring the sky above Sandy Hook Bay in pink and turquoise when a flash from the north caught my eye and I turned to see the NYC skyline ablaze with the setting sun.

  1. While hiking in Moab many (15?) years ago my brother taught me to turn around and walk backwards every once and a while. Because you’ll get to see things like this.

    Very cool.

  2. We have a saying in our family — “Don’t forget to look up!”

I guess that we should also say “Remember to look behind!”

  3. You can see that from where you are? I’m glad you glanced that way. It’s both eerie and beautiful at the same time.

  4. WOW is right.
No wonder we call it THE CITY.

The other day, in conversation with someone, a person said “the city”–someone else said “what city.”
And we all stopped and looked as if–there is another city?

    Please.
